REAL JARDÍN BOTÁNICO

To celebrate 100 years of quantum mechanics, we, Quantum-IFT, are organizing Entangle This VI.

Venue

Entangle This VI: 100 Years of Quantum will take place at one of the greenest and most beautiful locations in downtown Madrid: The Royal Botanical Garden (Real Jardín Botánico).

Founded by King Felipe II in 1555 in Aranjuez, and moved to its current location by king Carlos III in 1774, the Royal Botanical Garden hosts a beautiful collection of around 5000 plants from around the world, and functions as both an oasis of tranquility at the heart of the city, open to everyone, as well as an active research center managed by the Spanish Research Council (CSIC).

The garden layout, gates, benches and some buildings were designed by Sabatini, architect of the "Puerta de Alcalá" as well as the major refurbishing of the Royal Palace that brought it to its present form.

Participants will be able to enjoy coffee breaks in the outdoor courtyards of the garden, roam around and enjoy its biodiversity, in the delightful weather of Madrid in September (not too cold, not too hot, and most likely very sunny!). After the talks are finsihed for the day, the participants will find themselves at the heart of Madrid -- mere meters away from puerta de Atocha or Paseo del Prado, its many bars, restaurants, and cultural attractions. With all of this and much more around the corner, we are confident that our workshop participants make the most of their stay in the vibrant city of Madrid!

-How to get there:

The Royal Botanical Garden is an important touristic attraction, and the main entrance (in the Paseo del Prado) is ticketed, charging €4 for admission. To access the conference venue, you will instead enter the botanical garden via the "back door" at Claudio Moyano 1 (near book stand #30). See the following map:

On the first day of the conference, there will be someone from the conference to ensure you can get in. On the second and third days, you will be able to enter by simply presenting your badge. Do not forget it or security won't let you into the garden!

Once inside the garden, just follow the blue route in the map towards the registration and conference areas. You will be free to explore the garden in your lunch breaks, as well as exit and re-enter the garden with your badge, provided you do so through the Claudio Moyano, 1 entrance.
