DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Silvia Lucia Correa Angel (Federal University of Rio
Grande do Norte -UFRN\, International Institute of Physics - IIP)\nThe da
rk photon is a new gauge boson that naturally arises in many beyond the St
andard Model theoretical models\, featuring\ninteractions that resemble qu
antum electrodynamics. Due to this feature\, it is often considered the po
rtal between dark and visible\nsectors. For this reason\, it has become th
e target of many experimental searches worldwide. In this work\, we propos
 e a search for dark\nphotons based on the Inverse Compton scattering\, $\\
 gamma e^- \\rightarrow A^\\prime e^-$\, to be conducted at the Brazilian\n
Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS). In this setup\, photons from a laser
source would impinge on the accelerated electron beam\npresent at the LNLS
\, producing a dark photon in the final state. Taking advantage of the pho
ton counting technique\, we derive the\nprojected sensitivity of this prop
osed dark sector detector by considering the energy of the incident photon
about 1 eV and an electron\nbeam of 3 GeV. We show that this experimental
setup could pave the way to the first Latin-American Dark Sector detector
capable of\ncovering an unexplored region of parameter space and confirmi
ng results from previous searches via astrophysical sources\, thus\nconsti
tuting a promising probe for dark sectors in the future.\n\nhttps://indico
