Description

Rare kaon decays are among the most sensitive probes of both heavy and light new physics thanks to high accuracy of the SM predictions, availability of very large datasets, and relatively simple final-state topologies. The on-going kaon experiments (NA62 at CERN and KOTO at J-PARC) have collected world's largest kaon decay samples over the past decade. A comprehensive review of searches for production of hidden-sector mediators in kaon and pion decays at these experiments, as well as searches for decays of hidden-sector mediators using a dedicated NA62 beam-dump dataset, is presented. The results improve over the state of the art across seven PBC benchmark scenarios. Future prospects of searches at kaon experiments are also discussed.
